2012 Jeep Wrangler

2012 ordering opened yesterday, one of the most anticipated changes the 3.6 Pentastar. That being said will this hurt the current 2011's? I doubt, most people buying Jeeps want one right now! The last 5 I sold all knew the 2012 was getting a bigger motor but did not want to wait.

Are there any major styling changes to the 2012? What about gas mileage? Any significant changes?

It's good to hear that customers are still buying the '11 Wranglers even though they know the '12 Wranglers are getting a much better engine - I would have lost money on that bet. (My assumption was most '11 Wrangler buyers didn't know about the Pentastar availability on the '12 Wrangler.)

Personally, I hate the 3.8 liter V6 in the Wrangler and think the Pentastar will be a HUGE improvement. If I were buying a new Jeep I'd wait, but that's just me....

I know the interior of the '11 Wrangler was brand new and a big improvement over the previous model. I don't think the exterior of the Wrangler is due for a redesign until '13 or '14.

Concerning fuel economy, that's a great question. I haven't compared the EPA ratings of the current 3.8 liter versus the Pentastar but I'm guessing there will be a big difference in real world driving.

The current 3.8 liter is so underpowered I think most owners have to drive the engine hard just to keep up with normal traffic resulting in really poor fuel economy.

Leaked info says 17 city 23Hwy a 20% improvement. The rumormill says thats the engine trans is 3" longer therefore a rake front windshield and a raked grill helps with the improved economy.

The JK ends in 2014 and 2015 will be the new JK/Fiat

As a long time Jeep guy I cringed when I saw your JK/Fiat reference. I'm not sure I'm ready for Fiat to start screwing around with the Wrangler.

Confirmed no body change for 2012, that's good for the resale of the JK!

Thanks for the information - the Pentastar engine is one of the best things to happen to the Wrangler in a long time. Finally an engine worthy of replacing the legendary 4.0 liter.

Dozer is not the color that I pictured in my head, was thinking more Dirty Brown. But the other new colors are right on what I was thinking. How many Gecko's are we going to be selling in 2012?
