FCA Headquarters to Reside in London
Well, I guess that is settled. FCA headquarters will be based in London. England finally gets a car company they can call their own. So much for Chrysler's world headquarters

I can't say that I'm surprised.
It will be interesting to see if FCA uses their global presence in an effort to minimize their U.S. tax obligation - I'd be willing to bet money of the fact that they will. And in fairness to FCA, their obligation is to their shareholders and if there's a legal way to pay less taxes than they should explore it. It would be no different than the measures that Apple or Nike takes to lower their U.S. tax obligation. (The fault is with the U.S. tax code, not the companies that figure out solutions to minimize their taxes.) One key difference, however, Apple and Nike were never bailed out by the U.S. taxpayers..... |

London certainly doesn't make great logistical sense when both Turin and Auburn Hills have viable facilities... I'm going to agree that is a way to avoid US and Italian tax obligations. We'll see!
And I think the logo is absolutely hideous. At least the cars born of the collaboration are better than the logo! |

Both the color and the font selection seem "weak" to me. Then again, I'm biased and still think that only the Pentastar is the proper logo for a CJDR vehicle. |

We must not understand design ...the "great" Italian branding company Robilant Associati designed it according to Wikipedia. Since an Italian company did it, it must be the best thing ever!
From Wikipedia, "The new FCA logo was created by the Italian branding company Robilant Associati,[12][13] ending the use of the Fiat SpA logo and Chrysler pentastar logo for group branding.[14]" |

In all seriousness, the pentastar was the logo for Chrysler Corporation. Since that entity no longer exists (and hasn't since 1998), it is probably best that it is put to bed permanently. Everybody just has to get used to saying FCA from now on just like DCX before it, or until another foreign company comes in, takes over and changes the name again. |

The only issue is that the Pentastar really hasn't been put to bed... all corporate communications, and especially things in fixed ops still use the generations old logo.

Concerning the Pentastar on the building that used to be Chrysler's World Headquarters, I remember reading that Mercedes had contacted architects trying to determine how difficult it would be to remove the Pentastar and replace it with their own logo. Fortunately, for all parties involved, that never happened. |
