I've seen those cheap wheel-covered POPs and some of them are painted in the most bland/hideous colors I've ever seen. They look like a car that would have been sold in some Communist country during the cold war. To the extent the Italians are supposed to be known for sense of style and design I was surprised that some of the POPs looked so bland.

Back in the old days when most dealers just relied on black and white print advertising these POPs would have been great ad units. The customers would have come to the lot looking for the cheap ad car and then switch themselves into a car that didn't have a hideous paint color.

The Pop is probably still a good switch car as long as you are in a subprime market.

I don't think the design is too bad versus other cars in the class, some that cost even more when loaded up with equipment (Versa, Spark, fortwo, Mirage, etc...)

Just watched another one roll through the Santander lane this morning - yep, another POP - this time a 2012 with 65k miles and 'TRANS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY.'

Abnormally-high mileage? Check.
Weird color combo? Check.
Incongruous body damage? Check.
Burn holes on the interior? Check.
Major mechanical problem? Check.

They've officially become subprime fodder! LOL.

Best part of it all? Someone paid $7000 for it...and it was a Hyundai dealer!
