Default Wpc return core reimbursement

Our Dealership has been through some personnel changes recently. As a result, We have a new Serivce Manager and new Warranty Administrator.

I have returned diesel injectors to the WPC and can't seem to find a correct answer regarding the reimbursement of those cores.

In the past, the service manager would make a new R.O. & charge the cores along with a administration fee to a Z labor op of some nature. I think we have an easier way by adding the charge in GWA to the existing transaction.

I am only the Parts Manager. I would appreciate some feedback since I did not get the opportunity to take all the training on the new warranty procedures.

Thanks!

Deniset - First post, Welcome to DealershipForum.

While I don't know the answer to your question we have a member who has an extensive GM parts background and I'll send him a Private Message on Monday and alert him to this thread and see if he can provide some guidance.

Default Wpc

It can be done one of 2 ways. I prefer the way you have described, personally.

My warranty clerk, however, prefers amending the original claim. To do this, bill the cores out to a counter ticket to the shop AT COST. The warranty person will go onto DealerWorld and apply for the credit for the returned cores. Make sure the warranty admin gets a copy so they can apply the credit DIRECTLY to that document to wash it out.

Either way, parts should get the cost of the core back (relieving their inventory of the cores), and any admin fees should go to service, even though they usually don't process the WPC returns.

Welcome to the forum. Not a lot of GM people here currently, but it's building slowly.

tnpartsguy - You're the best... I didn't even have a chance to send you a PM and you already responded to this post.

Good Karma for you and thanks for helping out a fellow DealershipForum member.
