Default Ford looking to sell its interest in Mazda

BusinessWeek and several other sources have indicated that Ford is shopping their 33% stake in Mazda to see if there are any interested buyers.

This report follows news last week that Mazda was dropping Ford Motor Credit and switching to Chase for their lending and floor-planning.

The report states that Tata Motors, the Indian Manufacturer that purchased Land Rover and Jaguar does not have an interest in Mazda.

Here's a link to the Business Week article: http://www.businessweek.com/globalbi...lobal+business

In the old days I remember a dealer that kept his Mazda franchise just because it gave him access to Ford Motor Credit. That was back in the days when FMC was very aggressive and purchased a lot of paper from their dealers. Man, how times change.
