Default Dealer want $2.2 Million "Blue Sky" for a Hyundai Dealership in Chicago

I was reading through the classifieds in Automotive News and smiled when I saw a dealer in Chicago that's asking for $2.2 Million "Blue Sky" for his Hyundai Dealership.

Please don't get me wrong, maybe it's worth $2.2 Million Blue but I just never thought I'd see an ad like that in my lifetime - especially in a 10 Million SAAR market.

His comment in his ad was that "Hyundai's the new Toyota" - maybe he's right?

It may just be a feeler ad------if it sells, great / if it does not sell, OK. A fishing trip.

As far as a DQ, that is a great idea, made me laugh!

I don't think there's much of a question that Hyundai is hotter today than ever before... how much higher can the value of a Hyundai franchise go???

My fear is by the time Fiat gets us some cheap fuel economy units... the pendulum will have swung over to the other direction and the market won't crave that product segment as it does today.

Timing & Luck... haven't seen those two in a while!

And with DQ you get a management team that includes Warren Buffet - it's a good thing when you're on the same team as one of the World's richest people.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I'm still surprised that Hyundai didn't want to do a deal with Chrysler.

My bet is the management team at Hyundai knew they didn't need the Ram and the Jeeps because they already have plans to enter those segments. If that's the case, Hyundai may have a long way to run before they reach maximum value.
