Unhappy Pritz Auto to be sold or close

News reports indicate that Pritz Auto (Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge) in Pottsville, PA will either be sold or close down after GMAC pulled the dealership's $1.4 Million floorline. For the full news report - click here

While I hate to hear about any dealer who faces this situation I really feel for this dealer who had to take over the family business 10 years ago at age 26 when his parents passed away. The report indicates there are two dealers who are interested in the business - hopefully he'll be able to sell it to one of them and salvage some of the dealership's value.

Default Update - Dealer liquidates new cars to pay GMAC - Dealership still for sale

A recent report indicates the dealer principal for Pritz Auto has sold off his new vehicle inventory and paid off his floorline with GMAC. The dealership is still for sale and the dealer is hopeful he can sell the business and retain jobs for his employees. For the full report - click here

I sent an e-mail to the dealer and invited him to the forum. Who knows, maybe someone here can help him find a buyer?

Default Update - Bob Weaver buys Pritz Auto

News reports indicate that Chevrolet Dealer Bob Weaver has entered into an agreement to buy Pritz Auto and has agreed to hire the former employees. He even extended an offer to hire the former dealer.

From my perspective, Good Karma for Bob Weaver. Mr. Weaver probably could have saved a couple of bucks and watched Pritz Auto head for bankruptcy where he could have bought the assets at fire sale prices. Instead, he stepped up and allowed the employees a chance to keep their jobs and the dealer a chance to keep his pride.

Maybe some of the execs in Auburn Hills could learn something from Mr. Weaver?
