Default White House Spokesman - CARS will be honored this weekend

Bloomberg News just released a story quoting White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs - “If you were planning on going to buy a car this weekend, using this program, this program continues to run,” Gibbs said. “If you meet the requirements of the program, the certificates will be honored.”

Who's running this show? I thought it was a Congressional program. Congress says we're out of money, White House says go ahead and sell them. Who are we supposed to believe?

What I want to know is when are we supposed to get paid for the ones we've already submitted?

Default House approves an extra $2 Billion for CARS - Senate to vote next week

A Bloomberg report indicates that the House of Representatives has approved a bill which would provide another $2 Billion for the CARS program. The Senate will address the issue next week.

While most would think that passage in the Senate is a "no-brainer" there are reports that Senator Pelosi thinks the program should be tightened before more funds are approved. Most of the revisions discussed would promote higher MPG vehicles.

We're putting on the brakes until Monday. Want to see what the Senate actually does and make sure there aren't any additional restrictions. Since we only have one Avenger, one Caliber and one Patriot left I doubt we'll miss any opportunities.
