How many F&I Managers?
I'd like to see this forum grow and am interested in how many FIM frequent this spot. I'm pretty passionate about what I do and am a member of another forum that's pretty large with 1680 members mostly FIM. I've worn more than one hat in a dealership but find the F&I office the most fun. Please jump in if you're a lurker.

Marv - great topic.
If I had to guess, I'd bet about 20% - 25% of our active members are F&I Managers. So, if you're working in F&I and you're reading this thread jump in and tell us how long you've been in the box and how many deals you typically see each month. And I'd love to hear from some of our "lurkers." |

F&I for over 20 years and like Marv have worn many different hats in my 30 years in the biz. Still like F&I the most although I would like to see more deals as everyone would right now. I still fondly remember my days in Miami when I would spin 100 deals a month. Now I'm lucky to get 25.

Back in the "Saddle" for 2 weeks now after dealership change and being out for 4 months, 19 years in the biz with most of it being in the box. As stated above, more fun than any of the other hats I've worn.

I spent several years in F&I. I had an old GM tell me F&I was the easiest job in the dealership. He had the easiest job because he didn’t do squat. I think F&I is both the hardest & most rewarding. The right person makes a world of difference.
I had an old vet in the box for yrs until he passed away last year. This guy was the best closer I’ve ever seen. 1,000 + PVR , w/ rare chargebacks & the customers loved him w/ perfect CSI. He was a real friend & is sorely missed. His name was Dunn & when he sat them down you knew the deal was done. |

I guess I am the young guy in the FI world... Been in my office for 4 years, and doing FI for 8 (we used to do our own FI)
I run 1000 per copy, and 40-50% Penn across the board, we are in a small town and most of the customers round here drive crazy miles commuting, So warranties are my game, I am usually at 75-85% warranty penn. Although I am new, I have followed the FI department for 15 years and know it pretty well... On top of that, FI is the best position in the dealership and I LOVE MY JOB!!! |
