GCUS-9-2508 Oil Price INCREASE??????
Gas is under $2/gallon.
I know why Dexos1 is going up, it's going to a full synthetic, but there is absolutely no reason for the other items to be going up. I would agree that it seems odd that the price GM charges for oil is going up when the wholesale market for oil is flat or falling.
I'm sure GM would argue that the wholesale cost of oil is just one component that needs to be figured when they calculate their selling price but I'm still skeptical that the price increase is necessary - probably just trying to increase their margins. |

GM/Mobil's explanation is the rising cost of chemicals used to make the base stock. I still call BS.
