Several other business news sites are also reporting that Ram will be the subject of the Super Bowl spot.

If you get a chance, would you post a link?

I checked Google News and the only story I could find that suggested the Ram was going to be the subject of the Super Bowl commercial was from a newspaper in Denver.

Thanks for the link - I agree the story is very specific and indicates the Ram will be the featured vehicle.

That said, the article was released only one day after a CNN-Money article quoted a Chrysler spokesperson stating the ad was going to showcase the Dodge Charger. Here's a link to the CNN-Money article - click here

For the sake of all the Dodge dealers out there, I hope your source is correct.

Default 01/26/10 Ad Age article still thinks the ad will be for the Charger

I performed a quick Google News search and sadly the most recent story from Ad Age Magazine states the Charger will be the featured vehicle. Here's a link to the article - click here

Who knows, maybe Chrysler's changed their mind and they'll feature the Ram Trucks. We can always hope....

That is what is hurting me so badly. Ram HD's were the only thing keeping us going. 80% of my new sales were Ram HD's and half of those were cab & chassis. With them jacking the prices of the trucks up a couple G's, and then taking the rebate from $6,000 on the 09's, to $1,000 on the 10's it has pretty much shut the valve off. Everybody who looks at them thinks they are the best truck ever, but when the out the door price is near or over $50,000 on some of these that is tough to swallow. I have been dealer trading a lot of them off though. I ordered real heavy on the 10' cab & chassis especially medium duty, and I have been selling them off to other dealers at invoice and that helps pay some of the bills but you can't live on HB alone.

Don't worry though, I just got 25 pages of their new certification BS this morning in my dealerconnect email. Way harder and more complex training requirements, that will solve all our problems!

For all the conversations we've had on the forum about Chrysler's new product and how long the dealers are going to need to wait, perhaps the bigger story is Marchionne's willingness to give-up market share for margin.

While I'm convinced Dodge builds a great truck, it's also true that GM and Ford have good trucks. At what price point does the loyal Dodge customer defect to Ford or GM?

Default Charger sales down 47% for January

Did anyone else notice that Charger sales were off 47% for January - down to 2,125 units. When you figure that probably half of those sales were to rental fleets, corporate fleets and police fleets that means there were probably only 1,000 Chargers retailed.

Can you imagine authorizing a Super Bowl commercial for a vehicle that only does 1,000 units a month? I sure hope the reports suggesting that the Ram will be the feature vehicle are correct.

Please leave your thoughts.

I just watched the clip - I sure hope that isn't the Super Bowl commercial.

In fact, I'll be disappointed if the Super Bowl commercial is for the Charger. The Ram truck is a fantastic vehicle that dealers actually have in inventory - why not advertise that?

Surely, that is not it...............That is bad for a High School game, let alone the Super Bowl.
