Assured Sales

It's no secret I work for Lithia Motors and support them 100%. We have a customer centric dealership program called "Assured". There is a basic montra to Assured:

"Our customer's prospective comes first"

We've got programs like a 3 day / 500 return policy on all cars, pricing displayed on the window below MRSP on all new vehicles, 60 day / 3000 mile "it breaks we fix it" used car warranty, service as you need it, etc.

I guess I'm curious what some of the other dealers out there have for their customers. Who has a program that works or doesn't work?

SHACOS - Great topic. It will be interesting to hear from others on what works and what doesn't.

It's been a little quiet here this week - I've got some plans to build some traffic next week and we'll see if we can get some answers to your questions.

I had a chance to listen to an Internet Broadcast where Sid was speaking before a group of analysts last night.

It was interesting when he commented that the L2 stores have only taken one vehicle back as part of the Money Back Guarantee. Given the volume of sales that the three stores must be generating, that's an impressive result.

The other part of his presentation that surprised me was that the average age of a L2 customer was only 29.

There's no question that the retail car business is changing fast - it will be interesting to see if the features of the Assured Sales Program become common at all dealerships in the next several years.
