Default Another Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealer closes its doors.

Dunham Motors in Florence, Oregon has officially closed its doors and ceased all daily operations effective July 1st, 2008.

nownzen69 - Welcome to DealershipForum.com.

Thanks for the information - I hadn't heard about Dunham Motors. It's sad to see another long-time dealership close its operations.

If I recall correctly, I think that store used to be Burg CJD before it was sold to Dunham. Harley Burg owned that store for years before he sold it.

I found a newspaper report about Dunham's closing that indicated that they just didn't want to keep injecting cash into the business to keep it running.

Here's a link to the newspaper report: http://www.registerguard.com/csp/cms...62&sid=2&fid=1

Are there any other CJD dealers in the area now? Coos Bay probably still has one, but I would imagine customers would be shopping in Eugene for the best price now.

I checked the Dealer Map on the Dodge website. It looks like the coastal customers will have to choose between Coos Bay or Newport. If they don't use one of those dealers they'll have to drive to Eugene for service.

I also checked a Sales Report for Dunham - it looks like they sold 24 cars in 2008 before they closed.

It's hard to keep the doors open when you're only selling about four new cars per month.
