We are in discovery. This will take months. After discovery we will move on to the suits with about a dozen model plaintiffs. Dealers will then be slotted into one of the models.

While this is going on one of the plaintiff groups is trying to certify dealers into a class. The government is trying to keep the class from being certified. Additionally, the government is saying that the statute of limitations has expired and no more dealers can join the suit.

Thanks for the update.

I think it's interesting that the government is trying to use the statute of limitations to prevent any additional OLDCO Dealers from joining the suit - it's almost like they're trying to limit their losses if they lose the suit or decide to settle.

Selfishly, I'm still hoping the trial goes to the discovery phase and Press, Landry and Grady are all forced to testify under oath.

Press, Landry, Grady, and others will be dead before this thing goes to trial.

Does the change in administration make the timeline change?

I mean AIG had their day in court and we are coming up on 8 years.

People killed themselves over this, died young, lost homes and entire life savings all for what?

Idgaf about the $ anymore. The truth has to see the light of day at some point.

I joined the lawsuit back in June on a 1/3, 2/3 contingency. Sent in all my paperwork and have not heard a word since. Have tried to call the lady I was corresponding with twice, left messages with no response. I really don't know what to think. Our government is so messed up and worrying about BS that really doesn't matter. The press is even worse.

I'm with you. So much pain so little action.
I fall into two of your descriptions and almost 3 at one point. Had to sell my house, little to no savings left and I don't really want to talk about the 3rd one. I'm just afraid no one gives a damn anymore but us, and there is less of US every day.

Got a call on the 17th. Sounds like they are in depositions that will last all year. Yep ALL YEAR! I was busy so I didn't have much time to talk but it seems this is a long way from coming to an end. I'm going to guess it may be a decade after we received our letters before we have any kind of finalization, if ever. I know it's not necessarily the law firm's fault this is taking so long, but this is ridiculous.

Default What's going on?

In a conversation awhile ago it seemed that discovery was moving forward with the exception that the Dept. of Justice was not cooperating with information requests. I don't understand how they are exempt from requests but I can't say I'm shocked. Would enjoy hearing from anyone who knows anything else.

The government is trying to get all of the General Motors cases thrown out, then the only plaintiffs left will be the Chrysler dealers that have already joined the suit. The time period for additional plaintiffs to be added to the suit has already passed.

The update to this case has been posted to the related thread regarding this lawsuit. There are 305 rejected Chrysler dealers in this case. The case is now on the discovery fast track with the deposition of Robert Nardelli on Monday. Please see other thread.
