Default January, 2013 Sales Results

It looks like 2013 is off to a strong start - the industry was up 14% over last January.

Here's a ranking of the top OEMs based on percentage sales increase:
  • Toyota/Lexus + 27%
  • Ford + 22%
  • Subaru +21%
  • Chrysler Group + 16%
  • General Motors + 16%
  • Honda/Acura + 13%
  • Daimler Group + 11%
  • Volkswagen Group + 9%
  • Nissan/Infiniti + 2%
  • Hyundai/KIA + 2%
  • BMW + 2%
  • Mazda - 11%
For me, the biggest surprises were Mazda and Nissan. My only guess is that both OEMs had strong month last year since Toyota and Honda were still struggling to recover from the earthquake induced inventory shortages.
