Default 2010 Special Tools Package

I was bracing myself when I saw this e-mail but was surprised that it really wasn't too bad.

I was surprised to see that Chrysler's going to a glass matted battery. I wonder if it's the same type that's offered in the aftermarket like Optimas?

To the extent that the glass matted batteries are more expensive, I'd have figured the OEMs would stick with lead/acid.

Yeah, other than the battery testing tool I was shocked at how light we are getting off.

That's what I was thinking.

My first thought was "who the Hell needs a $2,000 battery tester?" and then I thought if that's the worst item on the list then that's not too bad.

There really isn't any new product to need new special tools for

I was guessing that the dealers were going to get hit pretty hard for the new Pentastar V-6 and the new Grand Cherokee. This is one of those times where I'm glad I was wrong.

Concerning the Pentastar V-6, I wonder if Chrysler's going to treat it as a non-serviceable engine and just handle warranty repairs on an exchange basis? Seems strange that a brand new engine wouldn't required some special tools for disassembly.
