Default CARS website

Looks like it's overloaded again. I haven't been able to get in this morning. Anyone else?

looks like it has crashed. Went in to verify all our deals are submitted and can't get in. Maybe the goverment will give us a 3 day reprive to enter anything that is missing. Thisis totally unexcusable and the government can penalize dealers for not being able to access their antiquated system. They should just pay us and then do a sample audit. What dealer wants to risk a $15000 fine. I guess the govt feels all dealers are lowlife snakes.

Application Unavailable

This application is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I've sent out three different emails asking for help/advise... still NOTHING.

I’m sure they will issue a statement soon that this is the dealer’s fault too.
Dealers just don’t understand how to login and keep trying incorrectly therefore bogging the system down.

To better meet the high demand we're experiencing, we have temporarily shut down the service so we can expand our capacity to more quickly serve your requests. Please visit the site at a later time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

They’ll probably get it back up about 8:01 PM when there will be no demand.

I can see why so many dealers are just worn out over this program and want it to end.
This whole CARS cluster has been so predictable.

Everyone knew the servers were going to crash today and no one was surprised that NHTSA took a stubborn stance refusing to allow dealers extra time to input claims. Hell, even Chrysler allows their dealers two days to enter NVDRs.

Sadly, CARS in yet another example of governmental incompetence and arrogance.

If this falls outside what is "politically correct" feel free to delete:

It seems the governments arrogance has increased dramatically as of late. I got this in an email from a buddy. I'm posting it in this thread only because I fear that Cash for Clunkers is a small dose of what we may have coming down the road.

Let me get this straight..

We're going to pass a health care plan:
written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,
signed by a president that also hasn't read it & who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,
and financed by a country that's nearly broke.

What possibly could go wrong?
XDCX, as said before, please feel to move/delete if you feel it inappropriate.

I just read the story on the Automotive News website, there were 95 comments that all basically said the same thing - very few people reported that they were able to enter claims.

I imagine there will be a lot of sleepless nights for the employees of dealers who still have claims to enter. What a mess.

let's hope we dont get stuck for any of these claims. Hopefully, there will be some sort of appeal process.
