Chrysler's not holding Fiat Hostage to broker Genesis Deals
At one time I'd heard rumors that Auburn Hills was going to hold a dealer's Fiat Franchise hostage if the dealer also had a Chrysler franchise that needed to be consolidated to complete Project Genesis.
It's been awhile since I've checked but I noticed that Ron Tonkin Fiat has finally opened and Ron Tonkin Dodge remains as a single-point Dodge store. (Town and Country Chrysler Jeep remains as a single-point store nearby.) I don't know whether Auburn Hills has placed Genesis on the back-burner or they simply concluded that holding a Fiat franchise hostage doesn't provide them with much negotiating leverage. |
