Default go mike s

I must be getting old or becoming more like my dad, because I think that the way Mike Singletary handled VD, by sending him to the locker room was great. I think more coaches in all sports should do the same. I remember my Coach when I played and he could kick our butt and grab our face mask to get a point accross, we respected him and played hard for him and the team. We also won alot of games.
I think we need to bring some of that ethic back to todays work force vs what we have today with too many attournies ready to protect the weak and hang the boss. Todays laws over protect those who just want to coast through life and prevent us from being one of the most feared forces of the globe. Our education rating has fallen because Johnny is not to be scolded because it may hurt his feelings. What bunk is that.
To further prove my point take a look at what is coming into your store looking for a job and tell me I am wrong.

I would like to hear both sides of this.

Default That was pretty cool...

I was watching that game and had it on Tivo.

The cool thing with Tivo is the "seven second rewind" feature - I must have watched that faceguard flip four or five times. It was such a stupid thing for Vernon Davis to do - especially with an official only four yards away.

Concerning sending Davis to the locker room - that was awesome.

That would be awesome, but I don't think San Francisco would go for it.

Maybe they would take Nardelli if the deal included FREE Vipers for the entire team.

I was watching the highlights on my fav channel "NFL NETWORK" and the 49ers looked like a team with more drive, so maybe ther is something to that "foot up the ass" coaching style vs butt kissing the over paid. GO MIKE, YOU KICK BUTT

There's a lot to be said for a tougher coaching style - if you want to get results you have to be able to get the players attention and make improvements.

I was watching the UW vs UCLA game on Saturday and the broadcasters were making a big deal about Rick Neuhiesel coming back to Husky Stadium after his messy departure five years ago. Love him or hate him, Neuhiesel's a great coach.

Every time his QB would make a poor decision Rick was right there in his face reviewing what went wrong and what he should have done differently. On some occasions Rick concluded the conversation with a stern look on others with a smile or a pat on the shoulder pads.

I think there are a lot of similarities between coaching athletes and running a sales force. You need to be able to strike a balance between being too strict and too laid back.

To quote the XMAN " I was thinking about this thread and......."
Well it looks like Mike S. may still have a job this year on the sidelines. I am glad to see this and I hope more of this kind of coaching spreads like wild fire to the point of a financial penalty for getting an early shower.
