CFC car audits

How often does CFC come and count your cars? I know the auditors don't have as many dealers as they used to, and the dealers they have left don't have as many cars to count, but it seems like they are counting the cars much more often than in the past. Their visit takes my office managers time and is generally disruptive. Any body else seeing the auditors more often? And if so why!

Is Data Scan doing any audits in your area? Is Data Scan handling your audits? Data Scan is an outside company handling some of CFC dealer audits (if you not already aware of them).

we have always seen the auditors every two months. i actually set a reminder in my computer so i remember when they will be coming.

i have never had much of a problem with the auditors, my audits usually take less than an hour for the whole thing (including counting cars) and only about 15 minutes in the office. my "usual" auditor calls me about 1/2 hour before she gets here so i have everything out for her ( report of sales, reciepts, deals, titles etc...). she breezes thru it all and off she goes. i don't find them to be a big problem at all.

as for the frequency, my last two audits were only 1 month apart, but they claimed that was not the norm (yeah right). i have been assuming that with more dealers getting out of trust and so forth that they will be stepping up the audits to make sure they don't get caught with thier pants down like it looks like they did in the Prebul case (see the thread " my closest competitor got arrested today").

we get datascan about every three to four audits. i get no warning other than my computer reminder that estimated the next time. but i have found them to all be friendly and easy going. no problems with them either.
