Default Ford may be in the best position to survive the downturn

In a recent news story, Jerry York indicated that Ford appears to be in the strongest position among the Detroit Three to survive the current downturn in the market.

Here's a link to the news report: http://www.reuters.com/article/Autos...28697820080916

Ford has the advantage that they started to accumulate cash two years before the downturn, selling off assets and disposing of poor performing divisions.

Chrysler is cited as being the weakest of the Detroit Three, but many acknowledge that it's difficult to determine Chrysler's overall strength because they are privately held.
