Hyundai-Kia Eyes No. 4 Sales Spot
“With Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group's global sales reaching 5.7 million cars this year, attention is turning to whether it will overtake the Renault-Nissan alliance to become the world's fourth largest carmaker. Hyundai ranked fifth last year, with Toyota on top followed by GM, Volkswagen, and Renault-Nissan.”

Wow, that's awesome. Hyundai and KIA are on a roll and I think they deserve all of their success.
It reminds me of the days when Honda was on a roll and they were gaining on Chrysler. The question wasn't whether Honda would ultimately outsell Chrysler in the U.S., it was really just a question of when. Concerning Nissan/Renault - it seems like they've lost a lot of their momentum and Carlos Ghosn is no longer portrayed as an automotive genius. I wonder if the same thing will happen to Marchionne - he seems to be basking in the "glow" currently. |
