Default Did Ohio once have a law that limited an individual to only one New Car Dealership?

I've been wanting to create a new thread about a story that appeared in Automotive News concerning The slow, steady demise of the small-town dealership when I read this excerpt:
Tim Doran, president of the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association, sees a similar trend. In 1975, there were 1,960 dealerships in Ohio with 1,960 dealers (at the time, dealers were allowed to own one store only). Ohio now has 830 dealerships with 330 dealers. Most of the dealerships that closed were in rural markets, Doran said.
Did Ohio once have a law in place that limited an individual to only owning one New Car Dealership? If so, I wonder when the law was overturned and what parties were lobbying for the change?
