Default '10 Dodge Journey

We're not a Dodge dealer, but we have a used one with a bad heater core. It's been ordered over a week so far, and I was told it was on national backorder. I was called a liar by one of our owners here about the fact that it's a very hard part to get. Needless to say, I'm a lil bit miffed right now....

So, is this part really that hard to get, or is my local Dodge dealer giving me snow?

Sounds like you need a new owner who is in touch with reality. Hand the stupid SOB the phone and let him call..

Chrysler is the Supreme Leader of backorder hell.

*My bad FCA lol**

Yes, backorder. 8 on special handling, no promise date. There are 17 dealers who show one in stock on the locator though. See if your local Chrysler guy will give you their name and number.

Call Brandel Motors..800-847-2502 or Mancari's Chrysler 800-622-4630. They were on the list.

Props to both of you for helping out a fellow member...

Absolutely. I also told the UCD that if it didn't get hot enough not to blame me, that I tried to get them to wait for the correct part, and they choose NOT to.

Yes, the Journey heater core is a disaster. We just did one a few weeks back... not only was parts availability a problem, wait until you see everything from the firewall back to the steering column removed for the install!

Comdash has actually been really good about slow part notification lately.

Parts Tab >> Comdash button on left-center part of screen. At least once per week, I get an article called "Mopar's Top 10 Most requested parts" from the "Mopar Supply Chain". In it, they give me a .xlsx spreadsheet of the most elusive parts with an explanation to WHY the parts are slow and HOW they are planning to fix it.

Comes in really handy when I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade with a busted Cooling Fan that hasn't come in for ~2.5 weeks. For this one specific customer, I showed her the documentation in this Comdash article, and that chilled her out quite a bit... Good luck, though!
