Default best way to order to build reserve?

what is the best way to order in order to build the most reserve in the fastest way...they did away with my 687 bonus so I am not concerned with the 687 if they are going to be like that, I just want to send as much back as possible as soon as possible...I only generate 5 or 6 hundred per month currently it seems monthly in reserves.

GM oil program. There are a couple of different way to do it.

We've been on ALL DISCOUNT for several years.
I'm considering going to the partial discount/partial reserve building mode, now that oil pricing has come down a little.

Default how

I am on the Bulk Oil Option 1 plan so 10%discount and 5%return reserve...they bill us for example the 0w20 dexos part# 88864006 for 110 gallons at 14.79 so it is 1626.90 with the 10% savings of 162.69 it is 1464.21, that comes to 3.33 a quart. we bill out quarts so it would be part #19259487 which is 3.55 a quart. so I guess what I need to know is what is the most profitable way to bill it out on a customer pay ticket...I assume manually change the price to 3.33 so I get .22 more profit per quart? on the gm statement would I then just add the 687 savings to the 242 total since they did away with my 687 bonus?

statement is as follows
242 4894.01
242/687 -187.23
244 1631.30

we just put the 244 as 242 so I guess I need to know which way to post it is most profitable and correct, thanks

Wow... things in the USA are much different that here in Canada. I should be thankful.
One thing I would like to add though, is your 244 account items should stay in 244, as they do not go to the service transfer at month end. All profit from 244 stays in parts. At least here it does.

Everything is different. RIM only keeps parts for 12 months. I earn return reserve on CSO purchases. We do not have a loyalty program. I read these posts from you guys and hope GM Canada doesn't see what is happening in the USA.

I am just thinking there is a better way to charge it out from the formula I showed.

Megadraught. I am also in Canada, and as far as I know we no longer generate return reserve from CSO orders. If I am wrong can you send me any documentation that states otherwise. I just looked in the policy and procedures in Global but it is so outdated it still lists the 35% penalty return. We now only generate return reserve from DRO and QPO that are ordered outside of RIM.

I capture all sales daily and manually order the fast moving parts on either a DRO or a QPO order. Doing this builds my return reserves. I order all special order parts on a CSO order with the exception of a few big dollar parts that I am sure will sell. I also inventory all special orders monthly and return anything older than 45 days. By doing these thing I have been able to keep my obsolescence to 3% of my inventory.

Are the parts which are ordered (manually)on DRO orders in Canada, returnable? Here in USA they are not.

They are only returnable on a monthly return using my return reserve. I only order fast moving parts like this, parts that I know will sell. Everything else I leave to RIM to manage so that I have the protection on them.

I have noted from reading the posts on this site just how much things are different in Canada than in the USA, I can't imagine having to put up with the crap you guys do, its bad enough up here as it is.
