Default All The Way To The Bank!

This guy has been a must read for a long time & this time I couldn’t agree more!

http://www.autoextremist.com/

“But while Toyota is doing its corporate navel-gazing and trying to figure out how to become more “hip” in a world that has been basically turned upside down on top of them, the new Korean Hyundai-Kia juggernaut is threatening to blow right by them. The Koreans have discovered that great design and excellent driving dynamics are just as essential to success as quality and all-encompassing warranties, and they’re going to take that all the way to the bank with ever-increasing levels of market share and ever-growing conquest sales right out of Toyota’s - and Honda’s - hide.”

We got word this week the 2011 Sorento will be featured in Super Bowl ads!
This unit is already blowing out the door w/ strong gross & we just tripled down on orders.
The right product @ the right price is always a knockout!

Oh where did the businesses we had 6 years ago go? Most of our product line is the wrong product at the wrong price, and I don't know how to get out of it...other than to kidnap Crowe and take over his Hyundai/Kia store?

I am a huge fan of the AutoExtremist and find I'm in agreement with him 80%+ of the time.

Concerning Hyundai and KIA, I think he's right on. While Toyota has clearly steered into the ditch, even Honda has had a few misses lately. Hyundai and KIA are poised to gain market share and their product pipeline is impressive.

I even read that KIA will get a RWD performance car based on Hyundai's excellent Genesis sedan by 2013.

Thanks for the thread - it's nice to hear from someone who's selling cars and making money.

2 weeks now with Kia and let me say, I am impressed. The cars are wonderful, the warranties can't be beat, and the cars are competitive in their markets. I wish Chrysler had these cars 3 years ago, they never would have been in trouble. I am happy to be selling the brand and love how suprised my old Chrysler customers are with the ride and handling of the cars. Way to go KIA!

That's awesome - I'm happy for you.

KIA's got some great product and it appears the pipeline is full with more cool stuff to come. Who knows, maybe one day your owner will look back on the whole Chrysler OLDCO mess and see it as a good thing?

The cars practically sell themselves, all I have to do is not screw it up. They even have competitive leasing. I couldn't ask for more. My boss has his arbitration hearing on May 3rd and 4th. I wish him well, but think he will win if he doesn't get his franchise back. Kia is worlds ahead of Chrysler and going places fast. Why take the ex wife back when the new one is better!

That's funny.

As I've posted before, I think Hyundai and KIA have some big plans and they should be able to ride a wave of success for a long time.

Back when it became clear that Cerberus wanted to dump Chrysler I always wondered why Hyundai/KIA didn't want to buy the company just to get access to the Jeeps and Rams? Cerberus was willing to give Chrysler away.

My theory at the time remains the same today - Hyundai/KIA knew they didn't need Jeep and Ram because they already have plans in place to enter those markets. It's almost like they're following Toyota's growth plan by starting with small cars and expanding from there.

Can you imagine how many small 4-cylinder pickups KIA could sell?

Here's why Kia is forward thinking and why they run circles around Chrysler. They sent us a wall sign thet has a magnetic surface. You simply put the tiles on it to create a big picture of the Sorento. When they launch a new car, just replace the tiles. Chrysler would have made us buy a new sign. Also, I just heard they are shipping us a prototype version of the 2011 Optima from Korea that we can show and test drive. We can't sell it, but can show it. Chrysler would have sent us a picture. They are very smart and progressive thinking at this company.

Chrysler would have had made us pay for the replacement tiles which we would be charged 2500.00 for the total picture.

And then they'd dispatch a SGS mystery shopper to the dealership asking about the sign so they could "short pay" you on Dealer Standards.
