Congrats to Chris Elliot--he's a good guy. We served together on the Texas Dodge Dealer's Advertising Association Board for a number of years together.

Moshe,

Congratulations on another successful transaction for Performance Brokerage Services.

It was interesting to read that the dealership was a CJDR franchise that had Fiat too. I wonder how many CJDR dealers added Fiat when they had the opportunity and whether the incremental sales from the Fiat franchise have increased the Blue Sky value of the stores?

Concerning the Buy/Sell in this thread, congratulations to Mr. Bruner on the sale of his Dealership and I wish much success to Mr. Elliott on his new venture.

Just wondering, with the theme of the last entry, why the Fiat was not accompanied with Alfa?

The guy that got my Jeep franchise added Fiat about a year ago with NO advertising....open house....Or announcement of any kind. Almost like he was embarrassed to have it.

Just a smile as i sit by the fire pit awaiting my steak. As meaningless as life has been since the massacre, it is nice to know humor is a sweet spot we all can enjoy. Awaiting college football, and the revelation on how my team is rancid, revealed by the Cats of course.

That's a good question.

I haven't kept up on FCA's franchise strategy lately but I'm guessing they are willing to let almost anyone have a Fiat franchise using the "more is more" mentality but they still want to limit the number of Alfa franchises in an effort to create an image of exclusivity.

To DealerEx's point, I'd be inclined to agree that the smart dealer would likely not want the added expense that an Alfa franchise would bring given the limited upside in sales/profits.

About the only Alfa Romeos I've seen driving in the Phoenix area with retail plates are the rebadged Mazda Miatas. I still can't figure out how that deal makes sense for any of the parties involved...?

I'd be very surprised if there was more than a couple of Alfa Romeos less than 10 years old within a 50 mile radius of Palestine TX. I'd be shocked if they have sold 100 of the Guilias in the entire State of Texas this year.

Oh, but now that they have an SUV, the dealers are "saved"!
