Default Desk Link / Lease Link

Curious on how many of us are lock’d into contracts on Desk Link / Lease Link programs that are currently obsolete due to the markets frowning upon retail lease contracts? I’ve exhausted all contacts on trying to re-negotiate our current Desk Link contract for a lower monthly… and they just won’t do it! I’m try’n to be reasonable and asking only for a lower payment… not a complete cancellation… they just won’t have it!

I have been at this location since 85 and their customer since 93-94… I’ve told all Desk Link reps… ignore me and my reasonable request and I promise you, I’ll NEVER re-up with this company! Now with finding this forum, I’d be quite curious if this request/statement would still fall upon the deaf ears of Desk Link if there were several of us making the same promise collectively. ???

Xman – IF you feel this topic is counter productive to your forum… I absolutely understand that and close up the thread. IF NOT… consider sending out a brief email to the members about this topic and our interest in their comments or position.

Just a thought here… but what if through DealershipForum we could begin to tackle (even attempt to tackle) daily obstacles in our business collectively as a group rather than individuals???

Then again… maybe I’m the only one with this situation… man, wouldn’t I feel stupid.

I was just starting to get with my rep and try to get mine lowered too. I am in a similar situation as far as how long I have been a customer and I would be very pissed if I got the same results as you, (which I am sure I will)

This is EXACTLY the type of thread that I'd like to see on the forum.

I think that the NADA and State Dealer Associations are great for what they do, but they never tackle issues like the one you just described. Dealers need a "collective voice" and I think it would be great if this site could be used for that purpose.

Concerning an e-mail to the members, I was planning on sending a mass e-mail once we reached the 500 member point and I will include the topic of this thread as a reason for members to re-engage and share their thoughts.

I like the nick-name - it has a good sound to it.

Default I included this topic on the Blast FAX to the Chrysler Dealers

I just wanted to "bump" this thread and note that I included this topic on the Blast FAX that I sent to the Chrysler Dealers.

The leasing market has changed, shouldn't Lease Link be willing to make some concessions to retain their dealers?

I say just stop paying them. That will get their attention. Then you can use it as a negotiating tool to start paying again but at a lower rate until things improve and more banks jump back into leasing. What are they going to do sue everyone that quits paying. With the economic times I cant imagine that would be cost effective for them.

Well, that's a bold negotiating move.

I wouldn't be surprised if that started to happen - especially if you can't get a return phone call from your rep.

If you think it might help I'll be happy to send an e-mail to their Corporate Office and reference this thread.

I've got a local rep. ... and started up from there. Put a general call in for info. on their Red Flag & OFAC... they'll show up! You're going to go down that road anyway.
