New Oil Finds

I accidently ran over these two articles over the past couple weeks and after finding the second one it kind of dawned on me how much media attention stuff like this ISN’T getting. Maybe because gas isn’t $4per gallon… maybe because drilling Off Shore isn’t politically correct… who knows why this stuff is getting buried.? But what it does show is that the combustible engine is far from dead and drilling in Deep Waters is only beginning.

That's a great point - there's still an effort to shape the publics belief based on what news get printed.

That said, I firmly believe that the Internet will greatly diminish the media's power over the next several years. From a personal standpoint, I never read the newspaper, I get most of my news from the Internet and thanks to Tivo the only portion of the local TV news I watch is the lead story and the sports section.

When I look back on my parent's generation they came from an era where "it didn't happen unless Walter Cronkite said it happened." By contrast, I don't even know who the Broadcast Reporters are for ABC, NBC and CBS?
