Default GM expects to reinstate 900 dealers in total

News reports indicate GM officials are estimating they'll reinstate 900 dealers - almost half of the 2,000 dealers that were terminated as part of GM's bankruptcy. For the full report - click here

GM made headlines across the U.S. when they offered to reinstate 661 dealers in an effort to settle arbitration cases. It appears they're going to settle an additional 200+ arbitration cases by offering to reinstate dealers bringing the total reinstatements to 900.

Chrysler, by contrast, claims to have offered 86 reinstatements but the terms of the LOI were so restrictive that few dealers accepted Chrysler's offer. (Chrysler's never named the 86 dealers who received a LOI so it's difficult to know how many accepted their offer.)
