From a consumer standpoint, I haven't even heard of the program.

We had a thread about the program when it first came out.

I think this thread will answer most of your questions - click here

It appears to be a good program.

In answer to your original question, I think consumer awareness is very low. I have not heard of any customers coming in and asking about this program.

I've had my sales force (new) pushing this since it came around. X-Man is right... very few customers are aware of this! Nice piece to add to your deal closing.

I knew there was a reason I liked this forum (actually many) Not only for the new information we receive but also for the reminders of things we've let fall by the wayside and forgotten.
I've said many times I've forgotten more about this business than some know and this is just a reminder that with age this comes more true
Thanks for the reminder!

I feel the same way. It seems with each passing year the car business gets a little bit more complex. Between the OEMs and all the government agencies it's almost impossible to keep up with all the changes and not have something slip between the cracks.

My bet is less than 20% of the salespeople know about this tax incentive and probably less than 5% of the general public know about it.

Here’s the link that’s worked best for us… people don’t question this tax break when they see it’s from the IRS website.
