We have recently closed on the sale of the VW dealership in Gainesville Florida.

The seller was Gettel Automotive Group headed by Jim Gettel.

The new dealer is Morgan Auto Group headed by Larry Morgan. With the latest acquisition, Morgan Auto Group owns 12 dealerships.

We wish Mr. Larry Morgan and his team the best of luck.

Yes! Congrats to Mr. Morgan! Larry is a great leader! He is on his way to building his dealer group to the same success of his "Tires Plus" stores back 10 years ago. That was a huge empire.
Dealers have been trying to model their service drives around the tire world. Well, take note... because Mr. Morgan is going to take the lead.
I can't wait to see what becomes of the A-typical service drive in all dealerships nationwide... Most of them are in serious need for technological improvements and overhauls. Combining 30-45 Minute oil change services with $200+ R.O. value averages has been a struggle for most dealers. But, should be rather straight-forward with a "Tire King" at the helm.

Thanks for the post - that was very interesting.

With the Internet and OEMs putting pressure on front end margins a Dealer Group with a track record of success in the Service and Parts side of the business might have a real competitive advantage.
