Default Health care benefits

I was wondering what other dealerships are offering in the way of Heath Care benefits for their employees.

Offer benefits
Yes or no...

If yes:

% of Cost paid.
Employee or family
Co-op / Deductible

If no...
Compensation and how much.
Do you have a waiver signed.

Opinion of how Obama-care will effect our industry

Other comments or concerns?

Our plan is a zero deductible, with meds paid. Office co-pay of $35.

Great thread - thanks 79LilRedExpress for starting it.

Concerning the Obama Health Care Plan, I think it's still anyone's guess how it will impact small business owners. As I recall, even the NADA didn't have an opinion on the legislation when it passed.

My dealer owner pays 100% of the Employee and Family. Employee has to pay $30 (single) $60 (family), each paycheck. We have a $20.00 Co-Pay at the Docs office. (In 2009 the co-pay was $10.00) RX is $15, $30, $60.

When I first started at the dealership I did not elect the program had to sign waiver company paid my additional $50.00 a month which was the SEC 125 payment at the time for a Single Person.

I think our total payment for the plan is around $21,000.00 a month for the whole dealership. This is the ONLY benefit we offer (90 Days). No 401K, Demo, Dental or Eyes plans. I know that most of the employees would not be working for our dealership if we had to pay out of pocket for the plan.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info... Hopefully this thread will continue for awhile and we can get an idea of our industry's standard.

The Obama-care, I must admit, has me a bit concerned.

We pay 50% of single, single & spouse or family, whichever applies. $3000 ded. Family runs about $1200 @ month right now. I'm no expert but my interpretation of the Obamacare is that it will cost us less at first until everyone is out of their private plans and then hang on!

Any good links out there that would some up Obama's pkg in relation to how it would affect us?
What would happen if we didn't offer any plans at all to our employees at the time of the Obama-care inception?

I found some links that do a good job of simplifying the health care issues for small business owners. Here are the links:

As I understand it, worse case scenario is a $2,000 fine per employee if you have more than 50 employees. The first 30 employees are exempt from the fine - so if you had 52 employees, you'd be assessed a fine of $2,000 x 22 employees = $44,000. The fines start in 2014.

Based on what I've read it appears the new laws will SAVE money for small business owners by allowing them to take advantage of tax credits.

My fear, however, is that this program will be like Social Security and the government will have to keep increasing taxes to pay for it. What Social Security started as and what it is today are two totally different programs.

No problem.

In fact, I'm glad you asked the question because I feel like I'm much more informed after reading the three articles above.

I had to laugh when I read there were special rules for Fast Food and Tanning Salon owners as part of the Health Care legislation. Where would we be without the Federal Government looking out for us....?
