Default '69 AMX sold at Barrett-Jackson for $26,500

I thought of this thread last night when I watched Barrett-Jackson sell a '69 AMX for $26,500. Here's a link with details about the car - click here

The guys from Speed Channel commented that the AMX has a small but loyal following and they've been getting so many emails from AMC loyalists that they decided to make the '69 AMX one of their featured cars.

Thanks X man, I have owned mine since high school '78. Was my dads demo back in '69 bought it off the 2nd owner. We AMC guys are loyal to a fault. Its so much fun to go to a show and be the only one there among the sea of Camaros and Mustangs. I love these mini vacations I take in my head when its 24 below outside. Thanks again....

Attention you AMC Guys, in the new movie Cars II, there will be AMC cars. A Gremlin named "Grim" and a Pacer called "Acer".

They should have on of those 71-74 Javelin AMXs, I love those bigger Coke Bottle shape Javs' .
As a kid growing up in Alabama, I would see a APS Javelin from time to time.

You must be referring to one of these cars.

I wonder if any other agencies were running Javelins back in the day? It looks like it would be a pretty cool pursuit vehicle.

Not too many people even knew about those cars. It was interesting that they were just Javelins without the AMX package bit still had the rear spoiler. I am not aware of any other Javelin pursuit cars. We had the Police cars in our town from 1969 until 1974. They were Ambassadors, 390's or 401's. I recall one year the 401's had dual snorkel air cleaners, I have never seen that before or since on an AMC car. I got lucky and got one off one of the patrol cars before it went to the crusher several years ago.

Now I will have to see the Cars II movie for sure!!! Wish they would have named the Pacer, RECAP............you know Pacer spelled backward. hehehe
