It's an issue. We have some 2010 models that are "sell-proof" - we need more incentives 4 17.39%

What's your inventory position with 2010 Model Year Vehicles?

While Chrysler received rave reviews for the improvements they made to many of their 2011 vehicles, that can create issues for dealers who are still trying to sell-off the 2010 vehicles they have in inventory.

What's your inventory position with 2010 Model Year Vehicles? Does Chrysler need to offer more "money on the hood" to make them go away or is it mostly a non-issue?

Please take our poll and share your thoughts.

Default Which 2010 vehicles need extra incentive dollars?

I've noticed a few responses to the poll indicate there are some 2010 vehicles that need extra incentive dollars.

Which models need the money the most? I've noticed there are still a lot of 2010 Chrysler 300s in inventory and plenty of 2010 Jeep Wranglers.

I thought the 2010 Wranglers were going to be the toughest to sell because Chrysler made so many improvements to the interior of the 2011 models. (That's why I had a picture of the Wrangler in this thread until Jim requested it be changed.)

I think the 2011 Wranglers will have the same issue when the 3.8 engine finally gets replaced by the 3.6 Pentastar engine.

A Couple of Journeys, 3 300's, 1 Wrangler, 1 3500 Dually, 1 Charger. I know of a couple dealers in Denver with some 2009 Chrysler 300's. Ouch!

Can those vehicles even be sold as new having sat around that long? Every dealer I've worked for with moldy inventory problems would turn them into rental cars for the service department or use them for salesmen demos only to resell them as program cars after a thousand miles or so. Often times the margin was better when done this way than selling current year inventory...

Unless Chrysler's made some recent changes to their NVDR requirements, a dealer can still NVDR a vehicle no matter how old it is.

It's rare that a vehicle will sit in inventory beyond 15 - 18 months because a dealer will get pressure from their flooring source to make curtailment payments or pay the vehicle off. That said, I remember a dealer who decided to keep a three year old Viper on his showroom floor and he never processed a NVDR - the vehicle was still part of his retail inventory.
