Default West BC - Is the $1,000 Wrangler Rebate Working?

Since this topic was buried in another thread I thought I would start a fresh thread to ask about the $1,000 Wrangler Rebate.

The West BC is the only BC in the Nation that has a $1,000 Rebate on the Wrangler. Is it working to increase sales?

We heard from a Dealer in California that it has helped him close deals - what about the rest of the Dealers in the West BC?

Have your Wrangler sales increased due to the $1,000 Rebate?

I'm surprised the Wrangler doesn't sell better at your dealership in Southern California. Is there a specific reason why besides high gas prices?

We were selling about 25- 30 per month. As I look across the street gas is now at $4.65 / gallon for regular. Had a customer trading in her '02 Civic for a 4 Door Wrangler x. She was a manager of the body shop we use. We agreed on numbers and she went back to work on a Friday and we set up delivery for Saturday. She comes in on Saturday and hands my Internet manager and myself each gift cards for $50 to The Cheesecake Factory. She doesnt want to buy the Wrangler and decides to keep her fuel effecient Civic. Tough market and conditions. We currently have 7 Wranglers out for the month and 6 of them are Rubicons. Most of these customers are buying the Rubicons as their play toys and not their every day vehicle.

That's interesting that 6 out of 7 Wrangler sales are for the Rubicon. With high gas prices it appears that the Wrangler has lost its appeal as a daily driver.
