Default AutoTrader.com may be investigating an IPO

Bloomberg is reporting that AutoTrader.com may be investigating an IPO trying to follow the success of Facebook's IPO and to free-up cash for the Private Equity firm that owns 25% of AutoTrader. Here's a link to the Bloomberg report - click here

The remaining 75% of AutoTrader is owned by Manheim Auctions which is owned by Cox Communications.

Is AutoTrader still popular with Internet Departments or are dealers spending their advertising dollars in other areas?

We cancelled Auto Trader last year and had a substantial increase in new vehicle sales.

That's interesting - I wonder how many other dealers have either cut back or eliminated their spending on AutoTrader and then measured the impact?

In my opinion, Craigslist would crush AutoTrader and Cars.com if they would make a few simple improvements and clamp-down on all of the scammers and spammers.
