Well it looks like I get to be post #300.

I filled up the Jeep the other day in Phoenix and paid $2.79.

While I hate to see fuel prices go up I was super happy to read the state decided not to renew their contract with the vendor who provided Photo Speed Enforcement on the freeways - I hated that system.

If we get to $3 bucks + I bet we'll get that much needed Energy Bill. That'll be just in time to finally pull the wrappings off a $30,000 to $40,000 SUV.

Smile $2.77 in Lake Havasu

I've been hanging out in Lake Havasu, AZ for the past couple of days and I'm happy to report the weather is warm and the gas is cheap.

I filled up the Jeep the other day and paid $2.77. Concerning the weather, it's sunny and hot - Havasu might get their first 100 degree day this weekend.

Default $2.69 in Arizona and $3.69 in California

I thought of this thread when I was driving to Lake Havasu last weekend. There's a small town just before you leave California and cross into Arizona and I noticed gas was selling for $3.69/gallon.

I traveled 20 miles down the highway there were three large truck stops and they were all selling gas for $2.69/gallon. I've heard that California requires a different blend of gasoline and I'm sure the small stations were working on the bigger margin, but is there really a reason to have a $1 differential in 20 miles?
