Default Capistrano Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep to close

News reports indicate that Capitstrano Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep will close their dealership in March. The dealership is owned by the Van Tuyl Group which also owns the neighboring Nissan dealership. The Nissan dealership has already been closed and the franchise has been re-assigned to the local Chevrolet Dealership.

The closing of Capistrano Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep will mark the third Chrysler dealer in California to close in 2009.

Yes, I can verify the store is closed. We recieved 80 of the 2008's they had and Chrysler bout the remaining 2009's except the challengers we kept those.

That's one advantage the Dealer Groups have is they can move their aged units to other stores and retail them. An individual dealer would most likely get wiped out trying to unload 80 2008 vehicles at auction.

The new car market in Southern California is on edge right now - even some of the big import stores are losing money. Hopefully business is better in Arizona and you'll be able to retail those extra units.

I guess they did a closng sale so all we got was 40 units! Thanks, We bought a Dodge point and merged to a better location so we are not feeling the pain as much as we were before.

Well 40 units shouldn't be too bad.

Glad to hear that you've got a better location, in this market you need every advantage you can get.
