Default Key Cutting Machine

Welp, it's that time. Need a new one....

Anyone have any recommendations? What to avoid? Preferred brand? Buy or Lease?

Thanks!

I wouldn't spend a bunch of money on one....
Keys are going electronic at a huge pace....
We were able to find a pretty good used one last year on E-BAY

our local harware store makes and programs chip keys for our competetive brand trade-ins for $80.00. we have a 15 year old machine we bought from Chrysler that cuts by trace or key code.

Default Lease

I lease from Barnes. Both a PC+ and a Lazer. The lease on the PC+ covers pretty much everything. The lease on the Lazer does NOT cover the dremel bits, which are RIDICULOUSLY priced.

I wouldn't cut side cuts with the Lazer, even though they really want you too.... I only get about 100~120 total keys out of a dremel bit.

Just a thought, when I was looking for a key machine a while back, I contacted Barnes. Over a few weeks, they were able to come up with an existing lease, that was defaulting back to them. I was able to lease it for the balance of the origional term. Such a situation might be worth checking into.
