Default Earthquake E. Coast

I guess a 5.9 is nothing out west but it was surreal around here.
I thought a truck had backed into the building or a car had fell off a lift in the shop.

I've been through a few earthquakes back home in Oregon and slept through the one that hit Colorado this morning. No biggie for us west coasters. I'm not sure I'd be in love with the idea of being on the top floor of a skyscaper in a quake, however.

The last earthquake I experienced was the 6.8 quake that hit the Seattle area back in 2001.

I was brave for about the first eight to ten seconds and then decided to hide under my desk when the shaking continued. It was the longest lasting quake I had ever experienced.

One of the odd after-effects I'll never forget is the cloudy water that came from the well I was on for several weeks following the quake.

Concerning the quake on the East Coast, I'm happy to hear it doesn't appear to have caused much damage.

Be careful what you wish for. Just like Katrina they'll ship the refugees to Texas.

Now that is just a mean spirited idea! They are NOT wanted here! Maybe the South should rise again.....
