Dodge Cars = Alfa Romeo and Chrysler = Lancia?
I often remind myself that Marchionne controls 100% of Fiat's equity but only 20% of Chrysler's. I keep thinking that has to impact his strategy and goals.
That said, does it sound reasonable that Marchionne will kill-off the Dodge car line and the Chrysler brand and replace them with Alfa Romeo and Lancia? Granted, it's just speculation but it may make sense from Marchionne's perspective. Why would he spend money to try and reinvigorate Dodge and Chrysler when he only owns 20% of the upside? If the kills off Dodge and Chrysler and replaces them with Alfa and Lancia he wins either way. Last edited by XDCX; 10-05-2009 at 11:43 AM. Where would Mini-van fit in this new product line up ? At one point in time if mini-van would have been its own car company it would have been ranked #4 by volume.

The minivan "soccer mom" image is probably a better fit with Chrysler/Lancia then it is with the Ram truck. |
