2015 Challenger Hellcat sells for $110,000 at Mecum's Houston Auction
2015 Challenger Hellcat sells for $110,000 at Mecum's Houston Auction I was watching the Mecum Houston Auction this weekend and was amazed when a 2015 Challenger Hellcat sold for $110,000. The Hellcat was brand new and only had 9 miles on the odometer. I know the demand has been high for the Hellcat but when you factor in an 8% buy fee that means the buyer paid almost $120,000 for the Hellcat. |

Seller and Mecum are the winners on this deal....
To me, it appears that the seller and Mecum are the winners on this deal.
The seller will likely net $101,200 for a vehicle that seems to have an Ebay transaction price in the high $70's to low $80s. Mecum will score 8% on both sides of the deal and make a little over $17,000 in commissions for their efforts. |

Still not sure why someone would pay almost $120K for a Challenger Hellcat via Mecum but props to the CJDR Dealer who had the bright idea to consign the vehicle to auction. |

Based on this auction (Click here) it appears a 2015 Challenger Hellcat recently sold in a live EBay auction for $62,655 - about $500 over the MSRP for the vehicle. I'm guessing the prices have softened another $4,000 - $6,000 since I last updated this thread. Some of that decline may be seasonal since I'm guessing the Hellcat isn't the best winter weather car and some of the decline may be from customers who would rather have a 2016 Hellcat instead of a 2015 Hellcat. |

We sold all of our 2015s for MSRP +/- $1,000. With the "guaranteed orders" setup for 2016 model year I have only been allocated three manual transmission Challengers... I ordered all of them with identical equipment and would be happy to sell for MSRP...

Does the allocation of the 2016 Hellcats seem more fair/balanced than what FCA did last year or do you still sense there's a bias toward the larger volume stores?
