Warranty parts center returns GM (WPC)
Just curious where some of your dealerships are applying the .3 for the warranty parts center. We are a GM dealership and this is when gm want to "inspect" a warranty part and we (at least at my dealership) get stuck doing all the shipping and paperwork. My accounting dept is currently applying this .3 which is approx. $35 to the 680 account. Does this sound correct? Any help would be appreciated

680
I would prefer 687, but the controller said 680 |

well I do it a little differently. I make up an actual parts counter invoice for customer "GM Warranty Parts Center", with $0 cost and the sales price of $28.19 which is based off from our current warranty labor rate. I also put the R.O. number and transaction number on the invoice. I then have our warranty clerk submit for the .3 hrs. When we receive the credit from GM it gets posted back to that invoice as a retail sale.

Torgy just curious what other things you invoice on counter slips. I'm just trying to get together some ideas together before I go to my controller. How about radio cluster handling, the $25 we get and the extra .2 we receive for exchanges. I like your ideas, I just don't know if they would go for it. |

Need help please...
what is the option 2 (terminated plan) used for? We just bought a Chevy Dealership and I was told we could do a 1 time buy/sell for as many parts as I want to send back....is this true?? Any direction would be helpful...

we have been through a few purchases of other dealerships in past years. The new owner usually has the opportunity to do a one time return for their inventory as long as the part numbers are current.
I believe this has changed since RIM was put into place. I found some information on pages 24 & 25 in the policy and procedure manual. |
