Selling a car with a pending airbag recall
Ordinarily if I get a car with a recall I take it in to the respective dealer to have it done before selling. What about a car with the Takata recall where there is no fix available now and no timeline for getting one either. Is a signed notice to the customer to that effect adequate?

I would think that would be enough. Call your attorney, see what they think and have them draw up the paperwork for your customer to sign. Have it notarized if you can.
Good Luck. |

We have done a signed notice on the units that have no fix or timeframe available... nobody has been litigious yet.
I imagine this will be an important thing for more of us to consider as the Takata recall expands even more. |

Use only a release drawn by an attorney. If you are talking NEW, consider what document you have that has been provided by your manufacturer that permits you to sell same.
