Default Buy 1 Get 3 Free Program

In November, Chrysler sent postcards to customers who had not returned to dealerships for service (inactive customers). The program advertised 3 free oil changes with the purchase of the first oil change for $29.95. Chrysler used their Essential Care program which is usually a $60 cost contract and dealers were refunded $10 for each customer. We were paid $29.95 for the first oil change by the customer, were refunded $20 for that service, plus Chrysler kicked in $10. After all is said and done, we're out the cost for oil and filter on the first oil change and we get a $20 reimbursment for the next three, and that covers our costs. Our track record is $30 - $40 upsell for each oil change. We're looking at a huge customer retention payback for the next 2 years. Anyone else try this program?

Thanks for the post and welcome to DealershipForum.com

The site is still pretty new and most of our members come from a sales/finance background so I don't know if you'll find too many that are familiar with this program.

As the site grows I hope that more Service and Parts Managers will participate.

Thanks again for the post and I'm glad that you found a program that's working well for your store.
