I've never subscribed to Ward's Dealer Business so I'm not familiar with this author's other stories.

I thought the article was interesting but not revolutionary - in many ways it could have been written ten years ago. People have been predicting a virtual sales process for a long time and yet it seems that only a very small percentage of vehicles are sold this way.

I love technology, I love the Internet and I'm convinced the retail car business is going to continue to evolve. That said, I don't think a virtual sales process will represent the majority of vehicle sales in my lifetime.
