Wikileaks details U.S. help for Big 3
Nothing related to dealers in the article, but chances are they are out there...
And still an interesting read. Anyone have connections at Wikileaks? http://www.detnews.com/article/20110...help-for-Big-3 |

That was an interesting read although there was nothing too astonishing.
Concerning the dealers, I don't know if we'll ever get the full story. My belief was, and continues to be, that the GM and Chrysler OLDCO dealers were killed off in the name of "shared sacrifice" and the Task Force defended their decision based on fabricated savings GM and Chrysler were going to enjoy as a result of the dealer cuts. That said, I don't think the government got involved in determining which dealers were going to get killed off; I believe GM and Chrysler made those decisions on their own. |

I fully believe some GM dealers decisions were politically swayed and settled before arbitration. The government may have not made the decisions, but politics were involved. In my opinion, no facts to back it up; just face to face conversations.
