Chrysler drops their Company Car Lease Program
Several sources have indicated that Chrysler has dropped or suspended their Company Car Lease Program. This was the program that Chrysler had for any employee from a District Manager on up that allowed them to lease a vehicle for their own personal use at a competitive rate.
From a dealership perspective, this program often supplied a nice selection of used cars at the auction that were different/better than the rental return vehicles. Perhaps most distressing is that fact that Chrysler indicates that they are dropping the program because of funding issues. That seems odd coming from a company that's supposed to have $9 - $11 Billion in cash? |

Have any sales come from the elimination of this program?
While the original post back in October of last year may have been a little premature, the information was correct that Chrysler was ending their Employee Company Car Lease Program.
I saw the D-mail indicating that these customers would be receiving a special incentive voucher since they were no longer able to lease another vehicle - has this resulted in any sales? While I'm sure this is probably a bigger issue for Detroit dealers than it would be for the rest of the country, I know there are Chrysler retirees spread throughout the U.S. that were eligible for this program. |
