I paid $3.56 to fill up my old Dodge in Enumclaw, WA last Saturday. I was able to save an additional 30 cents/gallon by using some Safeway Discount Points so that made the experience a little less painful.

I was going to calculate my fuel economy but discovered that my odometer is no longer working. A quick search on Google determined it's a very common problem and results when a plastic gear in the speedometer housing gets stripped.

The good news is that it's an easy fix, the bad news is that the going rate for the odometer gear is $25 - $30 and it's not even the size of a dime. (I don't care about the money so much, I just feel like someone must be making a huge profit since the material cost can't be more than a penny or two.)
